The Bank Currency Account is an easy-to-manage currency holding account, with no monthly account fee. With accounts available in 14 major currencies, it allows you to make payments into and out of your accounts.

Designed to support your international lifestyle, with easy access to your account via online banking, you can manage your finances wherever you are in the world.

How to apply for a JATB Currency Account

Are you eligible?

To apply for an JATB Currency Account you need to:

  • hold an active Bank current account (excluding Basic JATB Account)
  • be a resident of the US
  • be 18 years of age or over

If you're not yet an Bank customer, find out more about our current accounts info@jointatb.com.

You can credit your Bank Currency Account by making a transfer from your Bank dollar account online. You can also pay into your account from another bank account - account details can be found on your interner banking when you login.

When accessing your account via online banking note that between 10pm Saturday until 8am Sunday (US time) we will undertake system maintenance and can only provide limited access to your Bank Currency Account(s).

During this maintenance period, you will be able to view your account though the balances and transactions may not be up to date and it is not possible to make transfers to or from your Bank Currency Account(s) or to make payments from it.

You can withdraw money from your JATB Currency Account by making a transfer to your JATB dollar account either online. You can also arrange for a payment to be made out of the account using our International Payments service. We also do not offer overdraft facilities on this account, therefore please ensure you have sufficient funds in your account prior to making a payment or withdrawal.

During this maintenance period, you will be able to view your account though the balances and transactions may not be up to date and it is not possible to make transfers to or from your Bank Currency Account(s) or to make payments from it.

The exchange rate applied to your instruction will be the JATB Exchange Rate applicable at the time your payment is made. This is a live rate which is updated by the second during market hours. We will notify you each time you make a payment from your account and where a currency exchange has been involved, we will confirm the Bank Exchange Rate that has been applied.

There is no interest payable on the Bank Currency Account.

International payments:

  • Online: up to $50,000 (or currency equivalent)

 

Transfers:

Transfers between your own Bank accounts are unlimited.

It is not possible to cancel an immediate payment or transfer you have instructed us to make. If you need to cancel a payment that is due to be made on a future or recurring date, then you have until 23:59 (US time) the day before the payment is due, to cancel it. This can only be done via online banking.

Payments to accounts in the EEA in euro and dollar will normally be credited the next working day*. All other payments will normally take up to four working days* (but may take longer depending on the country the money is being sent to).
